Raimunda Martins

Teacher Raimunda has been a teacher since 1981. She participated of our program (Brazil/Canada Project for Professional Development) in 2007. Teacher Raimunda won a prize in 2007 -  Eleita pelo Jornal Atos e Fatos a Melhor Professora do Ano 2007 em Timon - MA. Pela relevante contribuição prestada para o desenvolvimento da Região dos Cocais. She was born in Maranhao state. She loves teaching and spending time with family and friends. She has one of the most beautiful smiles!

 

 

Her work

This activity was held with students of the 6^th grade at Centro Educacional Comunitaria Parque Itarare. My goal was to work language vocabulary for food and how prepare it – sharing local traditional recipes known by the students. The students worked with the teacher and after they worked in groups. They also made posters with the ingredients and used interdisciplinary as they used Math for measures the ingredients, arts to create the posters and ornamentation on the dishes and also Portuguese language, reading to find the recipes. At the end, they had a presentation and an introduction to the dishes to the classmates and teacher. The students said that “was the tastiest class ever”

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

This other activity teacher Raimunda works with language and culture. The students create posters telling the story and importance of Reggae in their community.
